Health and safety sin number 1 – Get a fire risk assessment

Legionella bacteria may be tiny, but it still packs a deadly punch, particularly if it finds its way into your water supply where it can multiply.

If it is ingested, legionella bacteria can go on to cause Legionnaires Disease which can be fatal, particularly among the elderly and those who whose immune systems are compromised.

The best way to tackle the threat of legionella head on is by monitoring your water supply regularly.

A thorough risk assessment will identify, quantify and assess the potential sources of risk of exposure to the legionella bacteria and assess the existing control measures in place.
