Health and safety consultancy

HEALTH and safety – three words that can have huge consequences if you don’t follow the rules correctly.

For businesses of all sizes, knowing which rules apply can be tricky and finding the time to pore over endless documents even harder.

Thankfully, the team at Acorn Safety Services is here to help having developed the perfect time-saving solution to ensure your business fully complies with the latest health and safety law – welcome to Acorn’s FREE online review surgeries.

What is a review surgery?

Led by Acorn’s Health and Safety Manager, John Crockett, you’ll be invited to join a 30-minute online call.

During the appointment, John will get to know every aspect of your business – including the number of employees you have and where you are based, to build up a complete picture of your individual needs.

Every call is dealt with the strictest confidence, so this really is the perfect opportunity to discuss any issues or areas of concern.

Afterwards, John and his team of experts will work with you to identify potential problems and advise you on the next steps to take. A follow-up visit to your premises to discuss issues in greater detail may be necessary.

Our review surgery appointments are free and convenient, taking place in the comfort of your own office, wherever you are in the UK.

When it comes to understanding health and safety there has never been a better time to start.

The cost of not complying with the law

The financial costs of getting compliance wrong can be enormous – but the human cost can be even higher.

According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) falls from height are still one of the biggest causes of deaths among workers in the UK, but ironically, they are among the easiest accidents to prevent.

Asbestos exposure still kills more than 2,500 people each year in the UK, despite the deadly material being banned 20 years ago, but many more deaths could be prevented in the future if stringent measures and management plans are put in place now to mitigate any possible effects.

The simple truth is that health and safety rules are there to protect us, and they must be taken seriously – by everyone.
